Pony Express route set up in Paradise

My stage coach arrived today and here are some initial WIP pictures.  This is from Dixon Miniatures.  I have to glue the doors on but don’t want to yet as I need to putty up the gap in the floor first.  The casting is really nice, with little flash and no loss of detail.

Any way, enjoy.

The handler with the case was purchased separately along with another who stands on top of the coach.

  1. Lovely stage there. How do Dixon's figs scale up with other manufacturers. I seem to recall hearing they were smallish.

  2. Eli,

The Dixon miniatures are definitely smaller than both the Blue Moon civilians and the Black Scorpions gun fighters I have. Not that I mind, as the coach was will be based on a GW chariot base plus it is nicely represents what I want. I may look at getting more stuff from them but will probably keep it to wagons etc.

  3. Black Scorpion are huge, so not the best test. I know that the Blue Moon line up better with Old Glory, Foundry, Perries, Knuckleduster and such.

  4. Black Scorpion are bigger but I do like the sculpts. The way I look at it is that the gunfighters are the 'heroes' of the world and therefore have a larger than life rep so they stand out more than the civilians. :D

  5. Would love to do a gutshot game involving a stagecoach holdup. All mounted action.

  6. We can do one the next time I am up in Bundy.
